Hidden Strike

Hidden Strike is an action film set amid oil conflicts in the Middle East. A private security specialist, Luo Feng, is sent to an Iraqi refinery after it comes under attack, tasked with getting the remaining workers out. He learns the attackers are after something far bigger than the facility itself: they intend to steal the refinery's fuel in a large-scale heist. To stop them, Feng has to join forces with Chris, a former US Marine on the other side of the fight. The two men cannot stand each other, but together they must escort a group of civilians along the dangerous route toward safety in Baghdad's Green Zone.

Jackie Chan plays Feng and John Cena plays Chris, with Pilou Asbæk, Amadeus Serafini, Jiang Wenli and Gong Jun among a credited cast of thirty. Arash Amel wrote the screenplay, and Scott Waugh directed. It was produced by Robert Powers, Jackie Chan and Hans Canosa for XYZ Films, Huaxia Film Distribution, Tencent Pictures and Taurus Film, on a budget of about 80 million dollars.

Hidden Strike runs 103 minutes and mixes action and adventure with comedy and thriller elements. It arrived in 2023, the fifth of the six features Waugh has directed in the chronology given, between Expend4bles and Runner. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.3 from more than 16,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.9 from around 1,100 votes, a warmer reception than the 4 out of 10 recorded from seventeen film critics.
