Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple

Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple takes place in a world where figures based on real-life authors possess supernatural abilities. A wave of suicides among ability users sweeps the globe, each death preceded by contact with a strange fog. The Armed Detective Agency is asked to look into the deaths and soon focuses on Tatsuhiko Shibusawa, an ability user known as the Collector who may be orchestrating events. When the fog reaches Yokohama and cuts the city off, the detectives must decide whether to join forces with the Port Mafia, their longtime rivals, to protect ability users worldwide.

The film is directed by Takuya Igarashi, whose earlier feature credits are Sailor Moon SuperS: Special and STAR DRIVER: The Movie, with Yoji Enokido writing the screenplay. It is an animated action, crime and mystery film produced in Japan by BONES alongside Lantis, WOWOW and movic, and runs 90 minutes. The voice cast includes Kensho Ono, Mamoru Miyano, Kisho Taniyama, Yuto Uemura, Akira Ishida and Sora Amamiya.

Released in March 2018, the film took in about 2 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a 7.3 rating from roughly 2,800 votes, while on TMDB it has an 8.1 from about 198 votes, indicating a smaller but more enthusiastic audience there.
