A Colorado ski resort is under siege from a creature that stalks the slopes and surrounding woods. Gar Seberg, a former Olympic skiing champion, arrives at the lodge with his wife Ellen, a television presenter, to stay with his old friend Tony Rill, whose grandmother runs the resort. When tourists begin dying brutally, the victims' numbers grow and the attacks put the coming festivities and the season's business in danger. The sheriff investigates even as Tony tries to keep paying guests from leaving, and he sees in Gar — skilled on skis and in need of work — a way to go after whatever is out there. The creature proves more clever than anyone expected.
Herb Wallerstein directed the 86-minute horror film from a screenplay by Joseph Stefano. Bo Svenson and Yvette Mimieux play Gar and Ellen, with Sylvia Sidney as Mrs. Carrie Rill, Robert Logan as Tony, Clint Walker as Sheriff Paraday and Thomas Babson as Buster. It was produced by Douglas Cramer Productions.
On IMDb and TMDB, audience ratings place the film low, with a TMDB score of 4.3 out of 10 from 44 votes. It belongs to the cycle of 1970s American made-for-television creature features.
