Saint Seiya Heaven Chapter: Overture picks up after the battle against Hades, which has left Seiya severely injured and confined to a wheelchair under Saori Kido's care. Their recovery is interrupted by the arrival of warriors sent by Artemis, the moon goddess and sister of Athena. Artemis takes control of the Sanctuary and Athena's position as guardian of the Earth, and Athena surrenders her divine power and authority in exchange for Seiya's safety. The Bronze Saints set out for the Sanctuary to rescue their goddess and free the Earth from Artemis's rule, though some of their fellow Saints have sided with the new order.
