Sister Street Fighter: Hanging by a Thread follows Li Koryu, a skilled martial artist who travels to Yokohama to find a woman named Birei, who has been taken by diamond smugglers. The gang hides its stones inside the bodies of women it traffics, and Koryu is drawn into their world. Her older sister, a jewelry designer, is connected to the criminals against her will, which complicates Koryu's search and turns it into a personal fight.
The film is a Japanese action crime drama directed by Kazuhiko Yamaguchi and written by Masahiro Kakefuda and Norifumi Suzuki, with Etsuko Shihomi starring as Li Koryu. Tamayo Mitsukawa, Hideo Murota, Masashi Ishibashi, Takashi Hio and Kōji Fujiyama appear in supporting roles. It is one of two Sister Street Fighter films Yamaguchi directed in 1974, arriving in the same year as the series entry of the same name and after earlier films such as Wandering Ginza Butterfly: She-Cat Gambler and Neon Jellyfish: Shinjuku Flower Streetcar. It runs 85 minutes and was produced by Toei Company.
