In the Tall Grass

In the Tall Grass is a horror thriller about a pregnant woman named Becky and her brother Cal, who pull over near an abandoned church after hearing a young boy calling for help from a vast field of tall grass. They walk in to find him, and soon realize the field will not let them leave. Something in the grass disorients them, separates them and turns them against one another, and they are not the only people trapped inside it.

The film is based on the novella by Stephen King and Joe Hill, and was written and directed by Vincenzo Natali as his seventh feature, following Haunter and arriving before VisionQuest. It was produced by Jimmy Miller, Steven Hoban and Matt Riley for Mosaic and Copperheart Entertainment. Laysla De Oliveira plays Becky, with Avery Whitted as Cal, Harrison Gilbertson as Travis McKean, Will Buie Jr. as Tobin Humboldt, Patrick Wilson as Ross Humboldt and Rachel Wilson as Natalie Humboldt.

Released in September 2019, the film runs 101 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.5 from around 73,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.6 from roughly 2,467 votes, a close agreement between the two audiences. A critics' rating of 5.1 from 75 reviews places it slightly below those audience scores, suggesting a mixed response across the board.
