Switchblade Sisters

Switchblade Sisters is a 1975 American crime drama about an all-female teenage gang in Los Angeles. The group, known as the Dagger Debs, takes in a newcomer, Maggie, who quickly rises to become the right hand of Lace, the gang's leader. This breeds resentment in Patch, Lace's longtime trusted lieutenant, who works to turn the two against each other. The internal rivalry unfolds against a backdrop of gang warfare and dealings in the criminal underworld.

The film was directed by Jack Hill, whose earlier work includes The Big Doll House, Coffy and Foxy Brown, and it sits near the end of a run of films he made in the early and mid-1970s. F.X. Maier wrote the screenplay, and John Prizer produced. Robbie Lee plays Lace, with Joanne Nail as Maggie and Monica Gayle as Patch, alongside Asher Brauner, Chase Newhart and Marlene Clark among a credited cast of twenty-two. It was produced by Centaur Pictures Inc. and runs 91 minutes.
