Run Sweetheart Run

Cherie is a single mother working as a secretary while she studies to become a nurse, hoping to build a better life for her daughter. After keeping away from dating following a difficult breakup, she agrees to a blind date arranged by her boss with Ethan, a wealthy and charismatic businessman. The evening goes well at first, and she accepts his invitation to continue it at his home. Once they are alone, however, his violent nature surfaces, and Cherie is forced to flee into the streets of Los Angeles, pursued by a determined attacker.

Shana Feste wrote and directed the film, her fifth feature after The Greatest, Country Strong, Endless Love and Boundaries. Ella Balinska plays Cherie, with Pilou Asbæk as Ethan; Clark Gregg, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Dayo Okeniyi appear in supporting roles. The production involves Blumhouse Productions among its companies, with Jason Blum, Feste and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones producing.

The film draws a muted response across measures. It holds a 5.5 rating on IMDb from around 9,100 votes and the same figure on TMDB from 234 votes. A critics' rating of 5.7 from 52 reviews sits slightly above the audience scores, so neither viewers nor reviewers came down strongly in either direction.
