What's left behind the scenes

The cartoon was created based on Buster Keaton's film "Steamboat Bill Jr.", which was also released in 1928.
"Steamboat Willie" is the earliest surviving sound cartoon; the first Mickey Mouse cartoon to be released, and the third in terms of creation.
