On My Skin, released in Italy as Sulla mia pelle, dramatizes the final week in the life of Stefano Cucchi, a thirty-one-year-old man arrested in Rome on a drug charge. What begins as a minor case turns into a week of detention during which his health deteriorates sharply, moving between carabinieri barracks and hospitals. The ordeal is shown largely from his perspective, and the film also follows the impact on his family as they face the institutions holding him.
Alessio Cremonini directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Lisa Nur Sultan. It was produced by Andrea Occhipinti and Luigi and Olivia Musini. Alessandro Borghi plays Stefano, with Max Tortora as Giovanni Cucchi and Jasmine Trinca as Ilaria Cucchi; the credited cast numbers fifty-three. The film runs 100 minutes.
On IMDb the film holds 7.3 out of 10 from roughly 11,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 8 out of 10 from about 1,900 votes. A critics' rating of 6.5 out of 10 from five reviews places professional assessments lower than the response from viewers on both platforms.
