The Good Nurse

Tobias Lindholm directs this American crime drama about Amy Loughren, an intensive care nurse and single mother whose demanding night shifts are made easier by Charlie Cullen, a helpful and empathetic new colleague. The two develop a close friendship as they work long hours together, and Amy begins to see a future for herself and her daughters. When a patient dies unexpectedly, her trust in Charlie is shaken, and when a series of suspicious deaths points to him as the main suspect, she finds herself risking a great deal to learn the truth about the man she has come to rely on. The film is based on real events.

Jessica Chastain plays Amy and Eddie Redmayne plays Charles Cullen. The supporting cast includes Nnamdi Asomugha, Kim Dickens, Malik Yoba and Alix West Lefler. Krysty Wilson-Cairns wrote the screenplay, and Darren Aronofsky, Michael Jackman and Scott Franklin produced. The film runs 121 minutes and was released in October 2022, after Lindholm's earlier features R, A Hijacking, Venice 70: Future Reloaded and A War. Its critics' rating of 6.6/10 sits close to its audience scores of 6.8/10 on IMDb from around 90,000 votes and 6.9/10 on TMDB, indicating a generally favorable response across both critics and viewers.
