To Be Twenty

Lia and Tina meet by chance and quickly recognize how much they have in common. Both are young, restless and dissatisfied with the lives laid out for them, so they set off hitchhiking toward Rome, hoping to join a commune where they imagine free love and easy living await. The reality of the city turns out to be harsher than their expectations, and the two women soon find themselves in conflict with criminals and with the police as they try to support themselves.

To Be Twenty is a 1978 Italian production directed and written by Fernando Di Leo, arriving between The Boss and Madness in the run of films he directed. Gloria Guida and Lilli Carati play the two lead roles, with Ray Lovelock, Vincenzo Crocitti, Giorgio Bracardi and Leopoldo Mastelloni in supporting parts.
