Last Looks

Charlie Waldo, a former Los Angeles police officer, has retreated to a solitary life in the woods after leaving the force in disgrace. His seclusion ends when a private investigator from his past asks for his help on a murder case: the wife of an eccentric television star has been found dead, and the actor is the leading suspect. The inquiry pulls Waldo back into a world of Hollywood personalities and criminal interests as he tries to establish what happened.

The film is directed by Tim Kirkby, whose previous feature was Action Point in 2018; Last Looks followed in 2022, ahead of Bad Tidings in 2024. Howard Michael Gould wrote the screenplay, adapting his own novel about the detective. Charlie Hunnam plays Waldo, with Mel Gibson as the television actor Alastair Pinch and Morena Baccarin as Lorena. Clancy Brown, Rupert Friend and Lucy Fry appear among a credited cast of 29.
