Set in New York several years after the bombing of Hiroshima, this drama follows Gaunt, a religious drifter who witnesses the sexual assault and murder of a Black woman. After the crime, Gaunt is falsely accused of the killing and forced to flee into the woods. He becomes the protector of the woman's mute son while being hunted by the actual perpetrator, the youth's father, and the local sheriff. As Gaunt suffers from an infected wound, he experiences hallucinations that reveal his past involvement as a crew member on the Enola Gay.
The film was directed by Peter Kass and written and produced by Calvin Floyd. The cast features John Heffernan in the lead role of Gaunt, alongside Stewart Heller, Barry Collins, Orville Steward, Ethel Ayler, and Nathaniel White. Produced by Emshwiller Film in the United States, the movie has a runtime of 76 minutes and was released on March 5, 1962.
