Fractured follows Ray Monroe, who is driving across the country with his wife Joanne and their young daughter Peri. When Peri is hurt in a fall at a highway rest stop, the family rushes to a nearby hospital. After a tense exchange at the admissions desk, Ray finally gets his daughter seen by a doctor. While Joanne accompanies Peri for further tests, an exhausted Ray falls asleep in the lobby. When he wakes, his wife and daughter are gone, and the hospital has no record of any of them ever being there. Ray begins a desperate search for his family, convinced the staff is hiding something.
The film is a drama and thriller directed by Brad Anderson, working from a screenplay by Alan B. McElroy. Sam Worthington plays Ray, with Lily Rabe as Joanne, Lucy Capri as Peri, and Stephen Tobolowsky as Dr. Berthram. Anderson's earlier credits include Session 9, The Machinist, TransSiberian, and Beirut; this is the ninth of the twelve films listed for him, followed later by Blood, The Silent Hour, and Worldbreaker. It runs 99 minutes.
On IMDb, the film holds a rating of 6.5 from roughly 112,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.8 from about 3,000 votes. A film critics' rating of 5.6 from 27 reviews places it below both audience scores, suggesting viewers responded more favorably than critics did.
