Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna

Tai Yagami is now a university student living on his own, still unsure what he wants to do with his life. Yamato and the other DigiDestined have scattered into their own routines, though they continue to help people whose lives involve partner Digimon. Their paths cross again when children around the world begin losing consciousness, and an unknown Digimon, Eosmon, appears to be behind it. As the group investigates, they learn that growing up brings an end to the bond between a chosen child and their Digimon partner, and that every battle shortens the time they have left. Tai faces a choice between protecting the people around him and keeping Agumon by his side.

Tomohisa Taguchi directed the film, which was released in Japan in February 2020. It sits between the Persona 3 film series he made earlier in the decade and later work such as The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes and Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning. The screenplay is by Akizuki Yamatoya, and the Japanese voice cast includes Natsuki Hanae as Taichi, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Yamato, Suzuko Mimori as Sora, Mao Ichimichi as Hikari, Junya Enoki as Takeru and Mutsumi Tamura as Koshiro. Around 26 cast members and 61 crew members are credited. The film took about 17 million dollars worldwide.

On IMDb it holds 7.5 out of 10 from roughly 2,300 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 8.1 out of 10 from about 275 votes. Both sets of viewers rate it positively, with the smaller TMDB group somewhat higher.
