Short description
Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.
What's left behind the scenes
- At the time of filming, 71-year-old actress and stuntwoman Ivette Ferguson became the oldest person to be set on fire in the history of cinema. Ferguson later recalled with a laugh that on the day of filming, the makeup artists included the song 'Burn Baby Burn' while preparing for the scene.
- In one of the cinemas in Buenos Aires, part of the roof collapsed onto the cinema seats during a screening of the film. Fortunately, no one was killed, but one audience member sustained minor injuries.
- According to eyewitnesses, Tony Todd felt very ill during filming, but he pulled himself together and finished his role.
- During a video conference with representatives of the film company, the future directors of the film, Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, staged their own deaths using pre-recorded footage and special effects. The producers were delighted and offered the duo a job on the film.
- The film's character, Bobby, suffers from a severe peanut allergy. The actor Owen Joyner, who played this character, also suffers from this condition.
- Actor Alex Zahara attended the premiere wearing the same clothes his character, Howard Campbell, was wearing at the moment of his death in the film.
- According to directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, the disaster was originally supposed to occur on a riverboat in the 1950s instead of a tower in the 1960s. They immediately abandoned this idea to avoid unfavorable comparisons with the film *Titanic*. During the development process, Stein mentioned his fear of heights and his desire to convey it as deeply as possible – this is how the idea of using a tower came about.
- According to director Zack Lipovsky, an early version of the script featured Kimberly Corman (A.J. Cook), the protagonist of 'Final Destination 2'. This idea was rejected because the writers wanted to focus on the backstory of William Bludworth, played by Tony Todd.
- Filming was supposed to take place from the end of July to October 2023. However, a strike by the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) began in mid-July, halting production on many films. Due to the delays, filming took place from March 4th to May 13th, 2024.
- Tony Todd's final monologue was entirely improvised: the directors asked the actor to speak from the heart and address not only the characters, but also the audience.
