Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning continues the story of Ethan Hunt and his team as they try to stop a powerful artificial intelligence known as the Entity. The Entity has spread through intelligence and defence systems around the world, and Hunt races to find the means to shut it down before it can gain control of global weapons. His search centres on a sunken Russian submarine, the Sevastopol, and he is opposed by Gabriel, an adversary with ties to Hunt's past.

The film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who wrote the screenplay with Erik Jendresen. It is the sixth Mission: Impossible film he has directed, following Rogue Nation, Fallout and Dead Reckoning Part One. Tom Cruise again plays Ethan Hunt and also produces, alongside Dana Goldberg and Don Granger. Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby and Esai Morales are among the main cast, in a production with 85 credited cast members and 84 credited crew members.

Released in May 2025, the film runs 170 minutes. Its budget of 400 million dollars was large even by blockbuster standards, and its worldwide box office of 599 million dollars left it short of that outlay. It holds a rating of 7.2 out of 10 on IMDb from 222,000 votes and the same score on TMDB from 3,166 votes. The critics' rating stands at 6.8 out of 10 from 427 reviews, somewhat below the audience scores.
