What's left behind the scenes
- Unlike Michael Gracey's musical 'The Greatest Showman' (2017), Rebecca Ferguson was given the opportunity to showcase her vocal abilities in this project.
- The scenes in the amusement park were filmed at the abandoned 'Jazzland' park in New Orleans. It fell victim to Hurricane Katrina in August 2005 and has not reopened since.
- The original screenplay by Lisa Joy (who also directed the film) was on the so-called 'Black List' of 2013 – a list of promising but unrealized screenplays.
