Crisis

Crisis is a crime drama and thriller that follows three intersecting narratives centered on the opioid epidemic. One storyline involves a drug trafficker coordinating a Fentanyl smuggling operation between Canada and the United States. Simultaneously, an architect recovering from an addiction to OxyContin attempts to uncover the truth regarding her son's connection to narcotics. The third plot focuses on a university professor who discovers troubling secrets about his employer, a pharmaceutical company with government ties that is launching a painkiller claimed to be non-addictive.

The film was written and directed by Nicholas Jarecki, following his 2012 film Arbitrage. The production was a joint effort between Belgium and Canada, involving companies such as Construction Film and Bideford Productions. The ensemble cast features Gary Oldman, Armie Hammer, Evangeline Lilly, Greg Kinnear, Michelle Rodriguez, and Luke Evans, with a total of 80 credited cast members.
