A Change of Seasons

A Change of Seasons is a 1980 American comedy-drama about a marriage that comes apart when both partners stray. Adam Evans, a college professor, begins an affair with one of his students, Lindsey. When his wife Karyn finds out, she responds by starting a relationship of her own with Pete, a younger man. The two couples end up at a ski resort in Vermont, where all four are together and the arrangement proves difficult to sustain.

Richard Lang and Noel Black are both credited as directors. Lang's filmography also includes Night Cries and Dark Mirror; Black's includes Pretty Poison and Private School. Erich Segal, Ronni Kern and Fred Segal wrote the screenplay, and Martin Ransohoff produced. Shirley MacLaine and Anthony Hopkins play Karyn and Adam, with Bo Derek as Lindsey, Michael Brandon as Pete, Mary Beth Hurt as the couple's daughter Kasey, and Edward Winter among the credited cast of twenty-four.
