Sarah moves into a one-bedroom apartment at Asilo Del Mar in Los Angeles, drawn by the space, the low rent and neighbours who seem unusually welcoming. The friendliness sours once she settles in: noises at night keep her awake, her cat disappears, and the attention from the people around her becomes hard to explain. Only one resident, the odd Lester, behaves differently. What begins as a lucky break in a housing market that offers her few others turns into an attempt to hold on to her own judgment.
