Secret Obsession

Jenny is found badly injured after an attack at a roadside rest stop and wakes in hospital with no memory of her past, including the assault itself. A man who says he is her husband, Russell, takes her home to a remote mountain house, where she is expected to recover. As she settles into a life she cannot recall, a detective named Frank Page works the case, driven by the disappearance of his own daughter, who was never found. Jennifer's growing unease suggests she is not as safe as she is being told.

Secret Obsession is a 2019 American thriller directed by Peter Sullivan, who wrote the screenplay with Kraig Wenman. It is the tenth of twenty-three films he directed in chronological order, arriving between Jingle Belle and The Secret Lives of Cheerleaders, and it was produced by Jeffrey Schenck and Barry Barnholtz for Hybrid. Brenda Song plays Jennifer, with Mike Vogel as Russell, Dennis Haysbert as Detective Page, Ashley Scott as Nurse Masters, Paul Sloan and Daniel Booko in supporting roles. The production ran 97 minutes.

The film drew a 2.8 out of 10 from eighteen critics, well below its audience scores of 4.5 on IMDb and 5.5 on TMDB, a gap that suggests viewers were somewhat more tolerant of the material than reviewers were, though both measures indicate a largely negative reception.
