Quinn is a smart but clumsy eighteen-year-old high school student determined to gain admission into the prestigious university her late father once attended. To achieve this goal, she decides to become a competitive dancer. Since she lacks the skills to join the top team, she gathers a group of unlikely peers to form her own squad and compete in a dance contest.

This musical comedy was directed by Laura Terruso, following her 2017 film Fits and Starts and preceding About My Father in 2023. The film features a cast including Sabrina Carpenter in the lead role as Quinn Ackerman, alongside Liza Koshy, Keiynan Lonsdale, Michelle Buteau, Jordan Fisher, and Drew Ray Tanner. It was produced by Alloy Entertainment, STX Films, and AK Worldwide, with a screenplay written by Alison Peck and production contributions from Alicia Keys, Leslie Morgenstein, and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton.
