Short description
Ten fishermen from Cornwall are signed by Universal Records and achieve a top ten hit with their debut album of Sea Shanties. Based on the true-life story of Cornish folk band, Fisherman's Friends.

What's left behind the scenes

  • In one episode, the characters discuss chart positions, and someone claims that Otis Redding was the first person to reach the top of the British charts posthumously. In reality, Redding's singles never reached number one in the UK charts; the correct answer is Buddy Holly.
  • The film is dedicated to the memory of Fisherman's Friends vocalist and manager Paul McCallum, who died in February 2013 while preparing for a performance in Guildford, Surrey.
  • Some members of the group Fisherman's Friends took part in the filming of the pub scene.
  • Once, while the actors in the film were relaxing in a London pub after filming, they decided to sing for the audience. Their improvised performance was interrupted by the establishment's owner, who stated that he did not have a license for live performances, and therefore, live singing in the pub could lead to serious trouble for him.
  • In one of the scenes, a character played by Sam Swainsbury carries out an empty beer keg and passes by a sign that reads "The Crab & Lobster." This is the name of the pub in the series "Doc Martin" (2004-2022), which was also filmed there at the same time. Apparently, when filming for one project ended on a particular day and filming for the other began, they simply forgot to remove or change the sign.
