Insidious: The Red Door

Insidious: The Red Door continues the story of the Lambert family, picking up years after the earlier entries in the series. Josh and his son Dalton, now a university student, are still haunted by repressed memories of the astral dimension known as the Further. When unsettling events return, the two must descend into that realm once more, confronting their family's buried history and the entities waiting behind the red door.

The film marks Patrick Wilson's feature directing debut. He also reprises his role as Josh, while Ty Simpkins returns as Dalton. The cast includes Sinclair Daniel, Hiam Abbass and Andrew Astor, with James Wan, Leigh Whannell and Jason Blum among the producers and Scott Teems handling the screenplay, from a production with 33 credited cast members and 192 credited crew. Made for a modest budget of 16 million dollars, it went on to earn around 189 million worldwide, a strong return by horror standards.
