A Boy Called Christmas

A Boy Called Christmas follows Nikolas, a boy living in Finland who sets off into the snowy north to find his father, a man who has gone in search of the legendary village of the elves, Elfhelm. Accompanied by a stubborn reindeer named Blitzen and a loyal pet mouse, Nikolas encounters magical creatures and the wonders of winter on a journey that shapes who he is to become.

The film was directed by Gil Kenan and written by Ol Parker and Gil Kenan, with Graham Broadbent, Peter Czernin and Sharon Titmarsh producing for Blueprint Pictures and StudioCanal. It is Kenan's fourth feature, arriving between Poltergeist and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Henry Lawfull plays Nikolas, with Toby Jones, Sally Hawkins, Kristen Wiig, Michiel Huisman and Zoe Colletti among the cast.

Released in November 2021, the 104-minute British production took in roughly 4 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.7 out of 10 from around 31,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.3 from a much smaller base of 832 votes. A critics' rating of 6.9 from 31 reviews places it close to the audience scores on IMDb, suggesting a generally favourable but not unanimous response.
