Anne and Lore are best friends and students at a religious boarding school. Distanced from the expectations of their community, the two teenagers form a pact to serve Satan and commit sins. Their rebellion begins with reading forbidden literature, spying on nuns, and lying during confession. As they move from small acts of defiance to more severe cruelty and perversion, their behavior escalates into dangerous games and dark rituals that eventually lead to a tragic conclusion.
Directed by Joël Séria, who also wrote the screenplay, this 1971 French drama and horror film was the first of two films he directed, followed by Cookies in 1975. The movie stars Jeanne Goupil as Anne and Catherine Wagener as Lore, with supporting roles played by Michel Robin, Bernard Dhéran, Gérard Darrieu, and Marc Dudicourt. Produced by Société Générale de Production, Productions Tanit, and Les Films Fernand Rivers, the film has a runtime of 102 minutes.
The film has received a positive reception from audiences, maintaining a consistent rating of 6.6/10 on both IMDb, with 3,100 votes, and TMDB, with 92 votes.
