Jolt

Lindy is a woman who lives with a condition that makes her anger flare up without warning, and she handles it with a vest of electrodes that shocks her back under control. After a man she cares about is murdered, she sets out to find whoever is responsible, drawing on her strength while police treat her as a suspect in the case.

The film stars Kate Beckinsale as Lindy, with Stanley Tucci, Bobby Cannavale, Jai Courtney, Laverne Cox and Constantine Gregory in supporting roles. It was directed by Tanya Wexler, following her earlier films Hysteria (2011) and Buffaloed (2020), from a screenplay by Scott Wascha. It was produced by Les Weldon, David Bernardi and Robert Van Norden, with Nu Boyana Film Studios, Millennium Media, Davis Films and Amazon Studios involved, and it runs 91 minutes.

Released in July 2021, Jolt drew a mixed reception. On IMDb it holds 5.6 out of 10 from around 39,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.5 out of 10 from more than 1,400 votes. A critics' rating of 4.8 out of 10 from 78 reviews places it below the audience scores. The credited cast of 32 and crew of 229 reflect a mid-sized international production spanning Bulgaria, the United States and France.
