- Three dogs – Britta, Lana 5, and Zuza – played the role of Lulu. They all resemble German Shepherds, but are actually Belgian Malinois, which are well-suited for police work or military service. The filmmakers found them at a kennel in Amsterdam that trains dogs for military service.
- When the coronavirus pandemic began, work on the film was interrupted, and the break lasted nine months. Channing Tatum and the trainers had enough time to work with the dogs and prepare them for filming. After filming was completed, three trainers decided to take the dogs they had worked with on the film.
- The credits state that the film is dedicated to the memory of Lulu. This refers to Tatum's dog, who died of cancer.
