Set in Ireland, this drama and thriller centers on Colmán Sharkey, a family man and fisherman. At the request of a local priest, Colmán allows a stranger named Patsy into his home. A former soldier, Patsy arrives with warnings about an oncoming crop disease known as the blight, which would eventually lead to the Great Famine, causing mass death and displacement across the country.
