Janet is a young student struggling with recurring nightmares involving her mother, who was committed to a psychiatric institution after killing Janet's father. Fearing she may inherit her mother's mental instability, Janet returns to her family home after leaving her private school. Once there, her psychological distress intensifies as she encounters a mysterious woman in the house and struggles to convince those around her that she is not losing her mind.
