The Killing of Two Lovers

David is a father of four in a rural Utah town, separated from his wife Niki while she sees another man. He wants to hold his family together, and both of them agree to see other people, but he finds it hard to accept her new relationship. Much of the film takes place inside a worn-out pickup truck, where David drives between the time he spends with his children and the home of his father, with whom he has had to move back in. Around his kids he works to keep up a cheerful front, though the situation wears on him.

Robert Machoian directed and wrote the film, and produced it with Clayne Crawford and Scott Christopherson. It was the first of three features he directed, followed by The Integrity of Joseph Chambers in 2023 and The Long Valley in 2025. Crawford plays David, with Sepideh Moafi as Niki and Chris Coy as Derek, and Avery Pizzuto, Arri Graham and Ezra Graham among the children.

The film runs 84 minutes and was released in 2021. On IMDb it holds 6.8 out of 10 from about 5,900 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.5 from a much smaller number of votes. A critics' rating of 7.9 from 103 reviews is noticeably higher than the audience scores.
