In a devout small town, seven high-school girls form a secret group in which each of them takes on the identity of one of the seven deadly sins. Their game turns dangerous when they begin to vanish one after another, and the girls come to suspect that their religious community is hiding something beyond what they have been told.
The Sinners is a Canadian-American horror thriller released in 2020, running 99 minutes. It was directed by Courtney Paige, who wrote the screenplay with Madison Smith and Erin Hazlehurst, and it was her first feature, ahead of Chapel in 2025. The cast is led by Kaitlyn Bernard as Grace Carver, Brenna Llewellyn as Aubrey Miller, Brenna Coates as Tori Davidson, Keilani Elizabeth Rose as Katie Hamilton, Jasmine Randhawa as Stacey Rodgers and Natalie Malaika as Robyn Pearce, with 40 credited performers in total. Elysia Rotaru, Stirling Bancroft and Steve Richmond produced for Globetrotter Pictures and Neon Cinema Films.
Audience response has been modest. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.2 out of 10 from around 1,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.1 out of 10 from a much smaller base of 21 votes. The two scores point to a limited, largely negative reception among viewers who have seen it.
