Street People, released in Italy in 1976 under the title Gli esecutori, is a crime drama set between San Francisco and Sicily. A mafia boss named Salvatore Francesco discovers that a shipment of heroin has gone missing in San Francisco and that suspicion has fallen on him. To clear himself, he turns to his nephew Ulisse, a sharp Anglo-Sicilian lawyer, and sends him to find out who is really behind the theft. Ulisse brings in his closest friend, Charlie Hanson, a grand prix driver with a taste for risk, and the two pursue the investigation their own way, one tracing the leak on Sicily while the other works the San Francisco end. Their search sets off conflict within the underworld.
The film was directed by Maurizio Lucidi and Guglielmo Garroni and written by Lucidi with Franco Bucceri and Randal Kleiser. It was Lucidi's second feature as director, following It Can Be Done Amigo in 1972.
