Boys from County Hell

Boys from County Hell is an Irish horror comedy set in the small rural community of Six Mile Hill, where a pile of stones in a field is said to mark the grave of Abhartach, a vampire of local legend. Eugene, a young man who enjoys scaring tourists with the story, does not take it seriously until a tragedy strikes close to him and strange attacks begin. When road work disturbs the site, Eugene and the crew led by his father, Francie, find themselves fighting off an actual vampire threat and must survive the night together.

The film was released in August 2021 and runs 89 minutes. Chris Baugh directed and wrote the screenplay, with Brendan Mullin and Yvonne Donohoe producing for Blinder Films alongside Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen and Endeavor Content. Jack Rowan plays Eugene, Nigel O'Neill plays Francie, and Louisa Harland, Michael Hough, John Lynch and Fra Fee appear in supporting roles. Made on a budget of about 3 million US dollars, it is a modest independent production.
