- Once during filming near a market, an elderly woman with a shopping bag suddenly appeared in the frame. She stated that she needed to go to the market, and although director Werner Herzog explained to her that filming was in progress, she insisted on making her purchases right then and there, so filming had to be interrupted for fifteen minutes.
