What's left behind the scenes
- Bougonia is an ancient Greek ritual based on the belief that if a bull's carcass is left under certain conditions, bees will appear within it. Figuratively, the word symbolizes rebirth.
- Emma Stone agreed to shave her head for the role only if director Yorgos Lanthimos did the same.
- Work on a remake of the film 'Save the Green Planet!' (Chang Joon-hwan) began in 2020. Will Tracy rewrote the screenplay, and Chang Joon-hwan was initially planned to direct. Ari Aster became the producer and advocated for making the protagonist a woman (the original featured a male lead). In February 2024, it became known that Yorgos Lanthimos would direct the remake.
- Yorgos Lanthimos wanted to film the final scenes at the Acropolis in Athens, but permission was denied. Filming was organized on a beach on the Greek island of Milos in the Aegean Sea.
