Skull: The Mask

This Brazilian fantasy horror film follows a supernatural killer in Sao Paulo. The plot centers on an ancient pre-Columbian mask associated with a god of execution. After a failed military experiment in 1944, the artifact eventually finds a human host in the modern day. This person becomes a vessel for the deity, committing violent sacrifices as an act of vengeance. Police officer Beatriz Obdias investigates the resulting string of brutal murders while other individuals also hunt for the mask.

The movie was directed by Kapel Furman and Armando Fonseca. For Furman, this project follows his 2011 film Pólvora Negra and precedes his 2026 releases, Remanente: Voltagem and Aterro Zeitgeist. Furman also served as a writer and producer. The cast features Natallia Rodrigues as Beatriz Obdias, Wilton Andrade as Manco Ramirez, and Ivo Müller as Tack Waelder, with a total of 76 credited cast members.

Audience reception was mixed, with the film earning a 4.9 rating on IMDb from 1,000 votes and a 5.4 on TMDB from 38 votes. Film critics gave the movie a slightly higher score of 5.5 based on 24 reviews.
