Steve Unger is a scientist determined to save his terminally ill wife, Darlene. While supporting his spouse and their ten-year-old daughter, Lily, Steve ignores legal and moral boundaries to develop a cure. His research involving the modification of human DNA creates a risk that could lead to the extinction of the human race.
