The Fall Guy

Colt Seavers works as a stunt double, taking the hits, falls and explosions that make movie stars look fearless. After an on-set accident nearly ends his career, he steps away from the business. He is drawn back when Jody Moreno, the woman he was involved with, needs him on her first big studio production, and when the actor at the centre of that film goes missing, Colt is asked to find him. What begins as a search turns into a wider conspiracy, and Colt has to keep performing dangerous work while untangling it.

The Fall Guy is directed by David Leitch, his eighth feature following John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, Hobbs & Shaw and Bullet Train. Drew Pearce wrote the screenplay, and Leitch produced alongside Ryan Gosling and Guymon Casady. Gosling plays Colt, with Emily Blunt as Jody, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Tom Ryder, Hannah Waddingham, Teresa Palmer and Stephanie Hsu in supporting roles. The production involved 60 credited cast members and 153 credited crew.

Made for about 125 million US dollars, the film returned roughly 181 million dollars worldwide, a modest result against its cost. On IMDb it holds 6.8 out of 10 from around 255,000 votes, and on TMDB 7 out of 10 from about 4,000 votes. A critics' rating of 7.1 out of 10 from 376 reviews places it close to the audience scores on both platforms.
