Sneakerella

This musical comedy is a modern retelling of Cinderella set within the New York City sneaker culture. El is an aspiring designer from Queens who hides his artistic abilities from his stepfather and half-brothers while working in a shoe store. After meeting Kira King, the independent daughter of basketball star and industry tycoon Darius King, the two form a connection over their shared passion for footwear. With support from a close friend and some magical assistance from a Fairy Godfather, El attempts to break into the professional sneaker industry.

The film was directed by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum, following her work on Purple Hearts earlier in 2022. It features a cast including Chosen Jacobs, Lexi Underwood, Kolton Stewart, Devyn Nekoda, Robyn Alomar, and John Salley. Produced by Disney Branded Television, Maple Plus Productions, and Jane Startz Productions, the movie is a joint production between Canada and the United States.

The film has received mixed responses from viewers. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 4.9/10 based on 2,200 votes, while it has a higher score of 5.9/10 on TMDB from 88 votes.
