What's left behind the scenes
- Work on the screenplay began in 2018.
- The Flinders Ranges in South Australia were chosen as the central location. The crew was based in the town of Lee Creek, 558 km from Adelaide, while the film was shot in Nilpena and the surrounding areas over the course of five weeks.
- Sandstorms were so frequent that they interfered with filming and almost brought production to a halt; fortunately, someone came up with the idea of mounting the camera on the operator's back. The film features authentic sandstorms.
