Missing

Missing is a 2023 mystery thriller about June, a teenager left home in Los Angeles when her mother Grace travels to Colombia on vacation with her new boyfriend, Kevin. When the couple disappears, June's attempts to get answers are slowed by international bureaucracy, and the agents handling the case can offer her little. From thousands of miles away, she turns to the digital tools at her disposal to trace her mother's movements, but each discovery raises fresh questions and exposes details about Grace that June never suspected.

The film is a sequel to Searching, sharing that earlier film's producers, among them Sev Ohanian and Aneesh Chaganty, and its focus on screens and online investigation. Nicholas D. Johnson and Will Merrick, who wrote the screenplay together, directed the film, their first feature behind the camera. Storm Reid plays June, with Nia Long as Grace, Ken Leung as Kevin, Joaquim de Almeida as Javi, Daniel Henney as Agent Park and Amy Landecker as Heather. The production involved 44 credited cast members and 73 credited crew.
