Complexes

Complexes is an Italian comedy consisting of three separate stories centered on human insecurities. In the first segment, a shy employee named Quirino struggles to express his feelings for his colleague, Gabriella. The second story follows Professor Beozi, a moralistic man who attempts to erase evidence of a film featuring his wife in a nude role to protect his reputation. The final story depicts Guglielmo, a man with prominent teeth who performs excellently in auditions for a television news presenter position despite a committee that seeks to disqualify him.

The film was co-produced by Italy and France and features a cast including Nino Manfredi, Ugo Tognazzi, and Alberto Sordi. It was directed by Dino Risi, Franco Rossi, and Luigi Filippo D'Amico. For Dino Risi, this was his sixth film out of fourteen, released after Weekend, Italian Style and before The Treasure of San Gennaro. Franco Rossi directed the film after High Infidelity and before The Witches. The screenplay was written by Ruggero Maccari, Ettore Scola, and Rodolfo Sonego.
