Set in Seoul in the run-up to the 1988 Summer Olympics, Seoul Vibe follows a crew of skilled drivers and mechanics who are drawn into an undercover operation. A powerful figure is suspected of running a large-scale money-laundering scheme, and the team is sent out onto the city's streets to trace the illegal funds. The film mixes action, comedy and crime as the group pursues both the case and its own ambitions.
The film was directed by Moon Hyun-sung from a screenplay by Shin Su-ah, produced by Kim Ji-hoon. Yoo Ah-in leads as Dong-wook, with Go Kyung-pyo, Lee Kyoo-hyung, Park Ju-hyun, Ong Seong-wu and Moon So-ri among the main cast. It was released in August 2022 and runs 140 minutes.
Made for a budget of 15 million US dollars, the film drew a mixed response. On IMDb it holds 5.5 out of 10 from around 2,500 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.5 out of 10 from roughly 181 votes. A critics' rating of 6.4 out of 10 from seven reviews places critical opinion slightly above the IMDb audience figure and close to the TMDB average. It was the director's third feature, following his earlier films.
