Fresh follows Noa, a young woman worn down by a string of disappointing dates arranged through dating apps. A chance meeting with Steve in a grocery store leads her to give him her number, and after a first date that goes well, she agrees to a weekend away with him. Once they are out of the city, she begins to see a different side of the man she thought she knew. The film blends comedy, horror and thriller elements, using the frustrations of modern dating as the starting point for a story about a young woman fighting to survive the unusual appetites of her new boyfriend.

Mimi Cave directed the film from a screenplay by Lauryn Kahn, with Adam McKay and Kevin J. Messick producing. It was Cave's first feature, followed by Holland in 2025. Daisy Edgar-Jones plays Noa, Sebastian Stan plays Steve, and Jojo T. Gibbs, Charlotte Le Bon, Dayo Okeniyi and Andrea Bang appear in supporting roles. Made for a modest budget of about 2 million dollars, the film reached a wide audience: on IMDb it holds a 6.7 rating from roughly 92,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.9 from a much smaller base of about 1,900 votes. A critics' rating of 7.1 from 208 reviews places it somewhat above the audience scores.
