- This is the first film in which Noomi Rapace (playing Maria) speaks Icelandic. She lived in Iceland as a child and learned the language.
- While preparing for filming, Noomi Rapace lived on a farm in Iceland and even learned to deliver lambs.
- Ada’s mother’s number is 3115, which corresponds to verse 15 of chapter 31 of the Book of Jeremiah, which reads: “Thus says the Lord: ‘A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping.
