Family Switch

Family Switch is a comedy about the Walker household, where parents Jess and Bill are trying to hold things together as their teenage children grow more independent. Days before Christmas, a rare cosmic event causes the parents and their kids to swap bodies. Each family member must then navigate an important day in someone else's skin, with a job promotion, a college interview, a music contract and a football team selection all hanging in the balance.

The film is directed by McG and written by Adam Sztykiel and Victoria Strouse. It sits between The Babysitter: Killer Queen and Uglies in McG's filmography, the tenth of the twelve features listed for him. Jennifer Garner, who also produced, plays Jess, with Ed Helms as Bill, Emma Myers and Brady Noon as the children, and Rita Moreno and Matthias Schweighöfer in supporting roles. It runs 106 minutes and was released in late November 2023.

On IMDb the film holds 5.7/10 from around 33,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 6.4/10 from roughly 800 votes. A critics' rating of 4.6/10 from 30 reviews places it below both audience scores. The relatively large IMDb vote count against the small TMDB sample suggests the film reached a broad streaming audience, one that rated it somewhat more generously than the professional reviews did.
