Cocaine Bear

Cocaine Bear is a crime comedy-thriller set in 1985, when a drug smuggler's plane goes down over the forests of Georgia and its cargo of cocaine is scattered across the woods. A black bear finds the packages and consumes a large amount of the drug, becoming aggressive and attacking anyone it encounters. Meanwhile, a mismatched group of police officers, criminals, tourists and teenagers converges on the same forest, and their paths cross with the animal.

The film is directed by Elizabeth Banks, its fourth feature after Movie 43, Pitch Perfect 2 and Charlie's Angels. Jimmy Warden wrote the screenplay, and Banks produced with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Keri Russell leads the cast as Sari, alongside Alden Ehrenreich, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Ray Liotta, Isiah Whitlock Jr. and Brooklynn Prince, with thirty credited cast members and 109 credited crew. It runs 95 minutes and was made for a budget of 33 million dollars, going on to take about 88 million dollars worldwide.

Ratings place it in middling territory: 5.9 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 126,000 votes, and 6 out of 10 on TMDB from around 2,500 votes. A critics' rating of 6.1 out of 10 from 332 reviews sits close to the audience scores, suggesting broad agreement rather than a sharp divide.
